ABOUT MUSIC TOGETHER®

MUSIC TOGETHER® is a fun family program for parents or caregivers and children age birth through five designed to nurture musical growth. A research-based, developmentally appropriate curriculum, it allows children to participate at their own level in small mixed-age classes. Just like learning language skills, these early childhood years of rapid brain growth are now also known to be the optimum time to achieve basic musical competence. Activities include singing, chanting, creative movement and instrument play together with parent education.

The music is made up of original and rearranged songs that include a variety of meters and tonalities. The instruction style is informal: children may or may not participate as they choose and do so according to their own developmental level. Children are only encouraged to respond spontaneously to the musical environment and are given the opportunity to enjoy movement and making live music. The class experience, reinforced by listening to CDs and parent involvement, stimulates learning at home through play.

Parents/Caregivers participate, regardless of musical ability, creating an enriching environment that children need to develop their musical intelligence. Classes are presented by a teacher with early childhood and music skills, specifically trained to educate parents about their child's musical development.
